Day 1: Nairobi

Nairobi is a completely modern creation; almost everything has been built in the last 100 years. It’s also known for being the only city with a national park. Spend a day in the area and go visit the elephant orphanage and the giraffe center – a brilliant park that has played a crucial role in saving the Rothschild’s giraffe from extinction. A visit to both will rank along your best wildlife memories of Kenya. If you’re an Out of Africa lover then you should also definitely go to the Karen Blixen Museum, which was the farmhouse she lived in between 1914 and 1931. For dinner, go to Carnivore, the hands down most famous nyamachoma (barbecued meat) in Kenya. It was voted by UK magazine Restaurant among the 50 best restaurants in the world in 2002 and 2003. There’s a wide variety of familiar and exotic meats – Kenya’s finest Molo lamb marinated in garlic, beef, spare ribs and chicken wings, as well as crocodile and ostrich, to name just a few.

Day 02- 03: Nairobi-Nanyuki

You will start your road safari to Sweetwater’s arriving at you lodge for lunch. The afternoon will be dedicated to your first game drive in the Sanctuary, returning to the camp before sunset for dinner and overnight. The next day you will have another game drive in Sweetwaters.
This 24,000 acre rhino sanctuary is located in typical savannah grasslands interrupted by "whistling thorn" shrubs, acacia trees and lush green vegetation along The UasoNyiro River. Here giraffe, zebra, eland, Oryx, waterbuck, grants gazelle, Thompson’s gazelle, elephant, Buffalo, silver backed jackal, ostrich, hartebeest, baboon, hippo, and rhino roam free. There are also several bird species to observe.

Day 04: Nanyuki-L.Nakuru

After breakfast at the lodge, check out and drive toNyahururu (Thomson’s falls) at the altitude of 7,738 feet. The falls are named after the Scots explorer Joseph Thompson who was the first European to discover the falls in 1884. Drive in the park to enjoy the sight of the Pelicans bathing in the fresh water streams which terminate in the Lake Nakuru. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. This park was famous only as a bird sanctuary especially the lesser and greater flamingos. However, now it is home to the white rhino and Rothschild giraffe, besides the herbivores like buck and antelope. Leopard can also be seen in this park. The vegetation is of the drier type. The flat-topped acacia and the candelabra cactus are a feature of the landscape. After the game drive in the afternoon return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 05-06-07:Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara

Have your breakfast at the hotel then depart for the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Leaving flamingo fringed Lake Nakuru behind you head southwards and turn right at MaaiMahiu to ascend up over the top of the Mau Escarpment. Travel towards Narok, gateway to the Maasai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. You'll travel across the "breadbasket “of Kenya, covered with acres of wheat and barley before you reach your destination, Mara for check in and lunch. Have your afternoon game drive in the reserve. Masai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black maned males. You are also likely to see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as leopard, cheetah and rhino if you're lucky. All of the Big Five are residents. You're sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film and enjoy yourselves! The meals and overnight will be in Maasai Mara.

Day 08: Mara/Nairobi/Depart

Have an early morning game drive in the park before heaging back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast check out and drive to the airstrip where you will fly straight to Mombasa.
